Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has confirmed he wants Ruud van Nistelrooy to stay at the club.

The Red Devils beat PAOK 2-0 at home in the Europa League on Thursday night, leaving United with six points from four games.

Van Nistelrooy stepped into his role as interim manager following the sacking of Erik ten Hag and is unbeaten in his three games in charge, guiding United to a 2-0 win over PAOK in the Europa League on Thursday — their first win in Europe in over a year.

A former United striker, Van Nistelrooy has said he would like to remain part of the club’s restructured management team after his interim stint ends on Sunday with a Premier League home game against Leicester City.

“100 per cent, he’s a very good guy and a good coach,” the Cameroonian told Ufabet Sports when asked if he wanted the Dutchman to stay.

“He’s got a lot of experience and he’s done an incredible job since he’s been at the club.

“We have a few days left to work with him as head coach. The players are happy, but it’s not something we can decide on.

“The club will make a decision and we have to accept it because they are the ones who will make the decision on this matter.” Onana said.

For Manchester United’s next match, they will face Leicester City this Sunday before entering the international break, after UFABET which Ruben Amorim will officially take over as head coach.
