Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg have confirmed they have parted ways with manager Pep Lijnders.
Lijnders took on a new challenge as Salzburg manager last summer after serving as Jurgen Klopp’s assistant at Liverpool for the past six years.
However, after poor results, Salzburg announced the sacking of the 41-year-old, ทางเข้า ufabet along with assistant coach Vitor Matos.
“We began to analyse our plan and realised that the season had been unsatisfactory. It was clear that in a number of matches we fell short of our goals and expectations. We are therefore convinced that the team needs fresh impetus under the new management, although we still hope to turn the tide until the end of the season,” Salzburg CEO Stefan Reiter and Sporting Director Reuven Schroder said in a joint statement. “We would like to thank
Pep for his work. He has devoted a great deal of effort and commitment and has provided an important impetus for our further development. “
We are now looking for a new coach and will let you know as soon as a decision has been made. We want to start training again on January 3, 2025 with a new coach,”
Salzburg said. Salzburg are fifth in the Austrian Bundesliga but are 10 points behind leaders Sturm Graz.
