Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has questioned whether Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui would fit into Ruben Amorim’s style of play.
The 39-year-old is set to take charge of the Red Devils during the international break, and his arrival could see a change in the team’s formation, as he is more comfortable playing with a “three-centre” formation, be it a 3-4-3, 3-4-2-1 or 3-5-2, which Scholes believes could be a problem for some players.
“There are three or four players, particularly the forwards, who have to play in an ugly position and he gets them to play in that position,” Scholes told TNT Sports.
“We’re talking about a back three, there are six centre-backs to choose from. He’s got two central midfielders in Casemiro and Ugarte – the problem might be with the wing-backs. Does he need wingers to come in and help him? If he does, I’m not sure Rashford or Garnacho would be the right option.”
“He wants wing-backs like Dalot and Mazraoui who can be good defensively but not so good going forward.”
“He’s got two number 10s now – Bruno is one of them and I think Menou can be one of them as well. I think he’s a better player ยูฟ่าเบท if he moves up there, which suits him better.”
